About CTV

Since 1975, Community Television of Knoxville (CTV) has provided training and access to television production facilities for the exclusive non-commercial use of Knoxville and Knox County residents.

Accessible in more than 100,000 homes - 24 hours a day, CTV serves a wide constituency, including community residents, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and local government agencies. CTV provides informative, educational, and cultural programming not available anywhere else on television.
Individual community producers are solely responsible for the content of their programs.
CTV builds community through media by providing the media production facilities, training & equipment required to share unedited viewpoints on cable television, regardless of social, political or economic status.
CTV offers:
CTV’s guidelines regarding program content are intended to achieve a balance between the First Amendment right to free speech and the cable subscriber’s right to be protected from unwanted viewing of offensive material.
CTV will not cablecast commercial programming; advertising for businesses, products, or services; direct solicitation of funds; unauthorized use of copyrighted material, or content that is considered obscene under federal or Tennessee State Law.

Currently, CTV can be viewed on Comcast Cable Channel 12 in the city of Knoxville and throughout Knox Co. and Charter Cable Channel 6 in select parts of West Knoxville.
