CHAPMAN IMPROVEMENTS . . .
The City of Knoxville has been awarded a grant of $950,000 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation to construct a multi-use path along Chapman Highway between Stone Road and Woodlawn Pike to enable safe walking, biking, and transit use. The project will also improve four Knoxville Area Transit bus stops. Included in the project are a total of 3,200 feet of multi-use path and 525 feet of sidewalk as well as upgraded pedestrian signals and crosswalks, including seven new crossings. The City was given a maximum grant amount of $950,000 for the project, while the City will contribute $857,895 toward its completion.
