Community Events Calendar
CTV hosts a Community Events Calendar for local nonprofit organizations to promote upcoming events. The calendar airs on our channel between regularly scheduled programs and at other convenient times throughout the day and night - approximately 6–8 hours each day. The online searchable version is available to viewers at any time right here at ctvKnox.org.
There are only three (3) REQUIREMENTS to post event announcements on our calendar:
- Official Proof of the posting organization's Nonprofit Status. The preferred form of proof is a copy of a federal 501(c)(3) nonprofit determination letter issued by the IRS. Another acceptable document is an official letter of determination issued by the Tennessee Department of Revenue.
- Payment of the $30 annual Calendar Access Fee, allowing the organization to post up to 3 or 4 different announcements per month during the 12-month period following payment. Note: The fee is the same whether you choose to promote just one event, or you choose to take advantage of it's full potential.
- A valid contact email for use with a user account on our site.
Once your account has been activated, you can access our ONLINE CALENDAR EVENT FORM by selecting "Add Calendar Event" under the "CREATE CONTENT" Tab. The form requires only 6 pieces of information: Organization Name, Message Title, Message Text, Date/Time, Contact Number, and Background Image. Note: You can only access the form if you have created an active User account.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- Each announcement must be a date-specific event - something that will happen on a certain date.
- Information must include a TITLE, BRIEF DESCRIPTION, DATE and CONTACT PHONE.
- Promotion of fund raising events is encouraged, but mention of specific "prices", "fees", etc. are not permitted.
- It is OK to mention that there is a fee, but viewers should be encouraged to use contact information for inquiry.
- Promotion of web sites or e-mail addresses is not permitted.
- You may post up to 4 announcements per month.
- Lead time is up to you, but we suggest 4 weeks for maximum exposure.
- For several reasons, we do not customarily post event announcements more than 4-6 weeks ahead.

Once each announcement is submitted and it has been approved, it will be simultaneously added to the calendar on our TV channel and at this web site. Depending on the time of day it is submitted, it should be approved and published within 24 hours.
