Custom Timer Complete Statement
Since 2004, CTV has held its Holiday Gift Auction every year to raise operating funds for the channel. This live 2-day event features the on-air sale of hundreds of wonderful gifts, timed perfectly to help local residents complete their holiday shopping and help promote the local businesses that support community access television.
CTV is extremely grateful for all the support we have received in the past from corporate sponsors, area merchants, local organizations, viewers and volunteers who have helped to make this fundraising event so successful. Participation from our local community is vital to the success of this unique channel that serves this local community.

Last year, approximately 250 Community Partners contributed Cash & Merchandise to make our auction a success. During the weeks leading up to the auction (and the heavy holiday shopping season) our video "Showcase Specials” aired more than 300 times - reaching the homes of more than 100,000 cable subscribers. Each of these specials showcased the items that were included in the auction and provided special recognition to each of the businesses and corporate sponsors who contributed so generously. This was our way of helping to promote local businesses who support community access television.
If you missed last year's auction . . . just click on any of the links below to view a different set of random "clips" from the 2-day event.
THIS YEAR'S AUCTION . . .
The 2008 Holiday Gift Auction will be held on Saturday, December 13th & Sunday, December 14th from 1 pm – 9 pm.
This year, we plan to promote the auction in a similar way, but we have expanded the rewards to the businesses and organizations who partner with us through our new Program Underwriting opportunities. At various levels of giving, businesses can receive any (or all) of several different types of media promotion. Explore more details about Program Underwritingby clicking on this link.
IT'S TIME TO RESPOND . . .
With all the work that is required to procure the gift items, produce the pre-auction specials, and build the interactive website interface that allows pre-auction on-line bidding, we are seeking corporate sponsorships and gift item donations now.
If you are already familiar with our auction and would like to indicate your plan to partner with us, please click the link below to access our online Community Partner Response Form.

HOW THE AUCTION WORKS . . .

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS . . .
Throughout the year, the staff at CTV is very busy collecting the wonderful assortment of gifts we offer during our annual CTV Holiday Gift Auction. Every year we depend on responsible VOLunteers to answer the phones during the actual "on-air" auction. This year, the phones will be ringing continuously from 1 pm to 9 pm on Saturday, December 13th and Sunday, December 14th.
If you, (and/or a group of your friends), would like to donate a 2½ hour block of time to help us answer the phones, we can certainly use the help! During each hour of the auction, we require a volunteer staff of about 20 Telephone Operators.
Volunteer Telephone Operators register new bidders, record incoming bids and assist repeat bidders when they call to increase their bids. VOLunteers typically work one (or two) 2-hour shifts. We are appreciative of the local business who provide refreshments for our VOLunteers.
Below, is the list of the specific Telephone Operator work shifts we need to fill.

If you recruit friends or young people to help in this effort, please remember Telephone Operators must be mature individuals who can neatly print important bid information - including correctly spelled names and accurate phone numbers.
Thanks!
