HAVE A VOICE. . .
The Beck Cultural Exchange Center presents the exhibition, I Have a Voice: Tennessee’s African American Musical Heritage. This exhibit was organized by the Tennessee State Museum and gives a look into Tennessee’s rich African American musical heritage and the influence it has had throughout the world. This will introduce visitors to many famous music legends from Tennessee such as Bessie Smith, who was nicknamed the “Empress of the Blues.” To learn about influences on everything from jazz to blues, ragtime to gospel, rhythm and blues to rock and roll, visit the Beck Center through February 9, 2019.
