Using The Tripod
When you want to use the camera mounted on a TRIPOD, you must first connect the QUICK SHOE from the tripod to the bottom of the camera. Release the QUICK SHOE from the head of the tripod using the RELEASE LEVER. If the lever is pulled out, the shoe will pop up and it can be removed from the tripod head. Two HOLES are located on the bottom of the camera. One hole has threads, and one does not. Place the quick shoe on the bottom of the camera so that the THREADED SCREW enters the threaded hole, and the pin enters the unthreaded hole. Turn the screw until it is finger tight, and the quick shoe does not slip around.
Open the LEGS of the TRIPOD by releasing the LEG LOCKS one at a time, pulling each LEG SECTION out completely, and relocking the LEG LOCK. Then, spread the legs to allow the tripod to stand on it’s own. Next, unlock the TILT LOCK and pull the HANDLE up until the top of the HEAD is parallel to the floor. Re-lock the TILT LOCK. Re-insert the attached QUICK SHOE into the tripod head and press down gently until the shoe locks into place.
Switch the EYEPOINT SELECT from “NEAR” to “FAR”. As you stand behind the camera you will be able to view the screen in the eyepiece like a miniature MONITOR. With your right hand on the HANDLE (to secure the camera), unlock the TILT LOCK, and the PAN LOCK. ALWAYS have your hand on the handle whenever these locks are unlocked, or the camera may tip over and crash to the floor. The MOVEMENT of the camera can now be controlled with the handle. The CONTROLS on top of the camera can be used to zoom in and out and to start and stop the recording. Whenever you are away from the tripod for any reason, the TILT LOCK and PAN LOCK must be tightened. If you plan to be away from the tripod for an extended period of time, the camera should be removed from the TRIPOD and placed in its PROTECTIVE CASE.
