EZ-Cam Mode

The EZ-CAM [Green Square] mode, discussed earlier, is the FULLY AUTOMATIC mode. When the EZ-CAM mode is used, none of the individual features can be MANUALLY adjusted.

In most situations, the “EZ CAM” mode will provide optimum results and is the best place to start for novice videographers. Once you slide the camera to the little green square, you are ready to start shooting. Pretty easy, huh?

Record/Pause Button

Use your thumb to control the (red) RECORD/PAUSE BUTTON on the back of the handgrip. When the button is pressed, the camcorder is placed in RECORD MODE. If it is pressed again, the camera is placed in PAUSE MODE. An AUXILLARY set of ZOOM and RECORD controls is on top of the camera for use when the camera is mounted on a tripod.

On-Screen Display

Looking through the EYEPIECE, you will see an ON-SCREEN DISPLAY (OSD) with information that will help you as you use the camera. When the camera is in PAUSE MODE, “PAUSE” is displayed on the screen. When the camera is in RECORD MODE, “REC” is displayed on the screen. A TIMER indicates how much tape has been used and how many minutes of useable tape remain. A BATTERY CHARGE symbol indicates how much battery power is left. When the symbol looks empty, it is time to replace (or recharge) the battery.

Adjusting The Eyepiece

The EYEPIECE provides full color, and has a FOCUS CONTROL RING that can be rotated to optimize focus for your eyesight. Make sure the EYE POINT SELECT switch is in the “NEAR” position when you want to use it up close to your eye. In the “FAR” position, it can be viewed from farther back when the camera is mounted on a tripod.

Now that you know that basic parts & functions of the camera,
it's time to start shooting...
