Composure . . .

JanThis is an age of information overload.  When it seems like everyone has a camera and a platform one needs to negotiate their own voice.  How do you stand out?  As someone very interested in documentary I would suggest taking that approach of the storyteller.  Take careful thought when using your camera to deliver that story.  Anyone can jump around and yell with a camcorder.  Consider the possibility of a tight, focused, directed, and intimate shot with the storyteller speaking directly to the audience.  I think that you will find that minimal camera movements and well-composed shots will draw a viewer in.  It will have a look quite unlike the rapid-paced images that someone is now used to seeing.
